Rotational Equilibrium Lab

Uses: Rotational Equilibrium of torques acting on a meterstick. Determination of the mass of an unknown object. Determination of the mass of the meterstick. Study of center of gravity.

Attach moveable clamps to the meterstick. Attach mass hangers to clamps. Drag and drop masses on the mass hangers. Drag the wooden support to adjust the axis of rotation.

All objects including the meterstick have mass.

An invisible lab partner is initially holding the meterstick in place. Your lab partner will release the meterstick when you click Release Lever. Reset Lever will return it to level and reactivate your lab partner.

Reset Masses removes all masses from the hangers. Reset All removes everything including the clamps and hangers.
